ISET-Nepal conducts research and analyzes issues related to society and the environment. It is registered with the District Administration Office (CDO) and Social Welfare Council (SWC) of the Government of Nepal as a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization. They aim to improve understanding and elevate the level of dialogue as civil society attempts to respond to natural resource and environmental challenges through the generation and dissemination of new knowledge on issues related to natural resources and the well-being of society.
