Description/notes

Sustainable Fish Farming Initiative (SFFI) provides technical and financial services to smallholder farmers to start fish farming cooperatives in Nepal.

We are committed to establishing a self-sustaining, income-generating food source for around 500 poverty-stricken/malnourished Nepalese villagers in the Baseri Village, Dhading District. Utilizing available unused local ponds, we are working to create small commercial fish-farming collectives owned by women in the village, thereby providing these women with revenue, creating infrastructure with a portion of the proceeds, and diversifying local food sources.
