Description/notes

The Andean Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations (CAOI) is a coordinating body for the Andean indigenous organizations of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. It was constituted on July 17, 2006, in its Founding Congress, held in Cusco, Peru.

Its main objective is the full exercise of the rights of indigenous peoples, in particular self-determination, territory, consultation and prior, free and informed consent, against the criminalization of demands and the militarization of territories.

CAOI's central proposal is the construction of Good Living and Plurinational States. To this end, it conducts research and works for the reconstitution of indigenous peoples and their continental articulation and with all social movements;
