Social Change Factory is a civic leadership, social innovations and research center. Since its creation in 2014, SCF has been designing and implementing innovative and inclusive programs in the areas of education, citizen engagement at regional, national and community levels, human rights and socio-professional insertion. Through its programmation, audiovisual contents and advocacy, SCF aims to address the challenges faced by citizens and especially youth and women and influence the mainstreaming of their rights into national and regional policies in West and Central Africa.
Headquarter in Senegal with offices in The Gambia, Côte d'Ivoire and Niger. We have a network of 107 volunteers in 11 countries of West and Central Africa (Senegal, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Chad.)
Themes of work:
● Reduction of social inequalities, through project-solutions. The approach used in this framework is youth-led, from which mobilized young people identify and implement solutions to problems related to the effects of climate change.
● Gender equity
● Youth engagement, youth-led design
● Strengthening and supporting local environmental protection and climate justice initiatives through training and capacity building for both local associations and young people (activists, environmentalists ....).
● Awareness raising and information on various topics related to climate justice to enable young people, children and adolescents and their communities to learn about and promote climate justice concepts and take action through climate action in their communities.
● Healthy and sustainable food through urban agro ecological activities, reforestation and micro-gardening.
● Community-based adaptation whereby SCF, through youth, children leadership, promotes and supports community impact initiatives that engage communities in adapting to the effects of climate change.
● Gradual transition to renewable energy with actions promoting the use of solar or other types of renewable energy.
● Promotion of renewable energy such as solar and wind power by local people in our community impact projects.
● Entrepreneurship in the eco-farming sphere through the promotion and support of individual or collective and entrepreneurial initiatives for a transition towards a more sustainable agriculture.
