Description/notes

Amnesty International is a global movement of 10 million people in more than 160 countries and territories, taking action to end human rights abuses. Within its priorities as an organization, education in human rights is central: it allows the autonomous action of young people and enhances their ability to make and execute strategic decisions to provoke changes in the area of human rights. Thus, Amnesty International Argentina provides spaces for young people to know their rights and know how to defend them, promote the respect of their peers and their opinions are taken into account in the design of public policies. It is in this context that the Amnesty International Argentina Youth Group was born in 2013: a space for active participation that brings together people between the ages of 13 and 25. The Youth Group participates in the organization's campaigns and carries out other ones of its own, mobilizes, trains and offers workshops in educational institutions. At the same time, it integrates networks, and alliances with organizations and participates in advocacy spaces intending to promote youth empowerment so that young people lead joint strategies in defence of human rights. Currently, its actions are focused on various lines of work. Environmental justice, sexual and reproductive rights, digital rights and youth participation are the priorities of the group's youth agenda for 2022.
