    |Description=The Association Burundaise pour la protection de la Nature (ABN) was approved on 8 April 2000 by the Ministry of Interior by ministerial order No. 530/231, as a non-profit non-governmental organisation (NGO), under the name of the Association burundaise pour la protection des oiseaux, "ABO" in its acronym. It became the Association burundaise pour la protection de la nature (ABN) on 7 September 2013 to better suit its programmes of activities aimed at the conservation of all components of the natural environment.
